Grown at an elevation of 5,400 feet, this is an intensely sweet, and incredibly multifaceted coffee. It almost has too many flavors to list! You’re immediately hit with an incredibly robust burst of flavors that include strawberry, guava, apricot, dark chocolate, coconut, and almond butter. These incredibly flavorful overtones are accentuated with a high acidity content which adds significant sweetness before rounding out with hints of frankincense, bergamot and nougat. The high acidity content also makes for a very light bodied brew that imparts a refreshing citrus freshness to the cup before finishing silky smooth on the back of your tongue. It is an amazingly intricate cup of coffee which owes some of its trademark characteristics to it’s incredibly unique production process, which calls for the use of the dried husk of the coffee cherry to be used in the fermentation step.
PT’s are among our favorite roasters with a multitude of their coffees can be found on our “Best Of” list. Their coffees always feel extra special as their limited production window makes them a rare treat that may not be available in next year’s harvest. Many of their coffee are “direct trade” meaning they develop a relationship with the farmers and work closely with them to ensure ethical practices.
