Another great entry from Kenya which is quickly becoming one of the best coffee producers in the world. This is another incredibly sweet coffee, owing its distinctive flavor to strong overtones of blood orange, molasses, and berries. This is complemented by hints of very powerful undertones like marjoram and a spiciness reminiscent of cinnamon or nutmeg. It is rounded out with a floral taste, and the high levels of tartaric acid leaves you with hints of grape once it has passed your tongue. Grown at an elevation of 5,900 feet (1,800 meters) it is complex, full bodied, and highly acidic, leaving a sweet aftertaste long after the coffee has passed through your mouth. It is an ideal bean for a light or Medium roast. It is an extremely satisfying coffee, which is so velvety smooth in your mouth that I often forgo my typical addition of cream. It is easily among my favorite Arabica blends, and is a great option for a daily consumption.
JBC Coffee roasters is a small roasting house which practices sustainable, ethical practices and is a valued partner within the Kenyan coffee market. There moto is “Let the Coffee lead the way”. The website looks a little dated, but the checkout process is smooth, and they accept all major credit cards.
